It was a once in a lifetime trip to South Africa. Johannesburg, Pretoria, Kruger game park, and Cape Town. Wonderful people, magnificent scenery, lots of large game animals up close.
The beading is beautiful. In spite of the language barrier I think we were able to communicate just fine--after all, we were talking beading! I learned a lot. The stitches are simple, similar to what you see in my African Net Necklace. The designs are fantastic and the color combinations intriguing. There is a very fine line between tribal and contemporary! I bought a few and may work some of the patterns and/or colors into what I do over time.
If you want to see animals, here are a few. You may not recognize the spotted hyena, Egyptian goose, and cheetah cub. Yes, the penguin is winking at you. Such a flirt! We met him south of Cape Town.
